FULL YEAR POINTS SERIES
This point series will run from the first race in May—Until October 24th, 2009. Every race at Medina RC Raceway will count towards this series, except the Ohio Pro Series. So, remember every time you race at Medina RC Raceway, you will be racing for points. This does include the days that we are running our Spring or Fall point series races. On those days, each driver will be earning points for both this point series race and the Spring or Fall series (Slashes you will be earning points for all 3 series, NCCS).
1) Everybody who registers for a race is automatically entered into this series.
2) There is no extra fee to enter this series.
3) There will be “no drops” in this series.
4) Each driver will receive 1 point for every lap completed in either the Heats or the Mains.
5) The driver with the most points or laps at the end of the year will be crowned the winner.
6) There are no classes and the top 3 drivers with the most points or laps will receive the prizes or trophies (which will be announced soon, we are working with sponsors to get something nice).
7) In the unlikely event of a tie: The breakers will be as follows: 1. Most 1st place Finishes in Mains. 2. Most TQ’s. 3. Most 2nd place Finishes in Mains.
FYI--Points for the days during our Spring and Fall points series will be added to the Year Long points series at the end of each series. So, at the end of the spring series, I will then add all four of those races to the Year Long Series
Spring Points Series
This point series will be run just like every other points series with a couple of twists to give people a chance to mix it up a little more. The goal is to not have the series decided in the first week.
1) We reserve the right to invert the starting positions in the Mains at any time we wish. Racers will NOT know whether we are or we are not inverting the positions until the drivers meeting right before the Mains.
2) There will be 4 race dates with 1 drop (your best 3 out of 4 will be counted).
3) Drivers will be placed in their proper classes.
4) There will be 3 rounds of Heats and then the Mains.
Points will be awarded for the following.
1) Every lap completed in the HEATS will earn 1 point.
2) The TQ will earn 1 point.
3) The MAINS will be worth 100 points for a 1st place finish. Then down by 2. (2nd place gets 98 3rd place gets 96 and so on…………).
4) In the unlikely event of a tie: The breakers will be as follows: 1. Most 1st place Finishes in Mains. 2. Most TQ’s. 3. Most 2nd place Finishes in Mains.
Points for slash NCCS
RC Pro and RCSignup have just introduced a nice initiative called the National Championship Club Series (NCCS). There have been a large number of tracks closing because of less club racing, so this series has been designed to bring more interest to local club racing but will also interest those racers who only race locally and who cant or dont travel. Any track in the U.S.A. can signup as long as they run the Slash spec class and have electronic scoring. Tracks can schedule 6 club events throughout the year that will score National Points at no cost to the tracks. Any racer can enter and score points at any track in the series and each racers best 4 results will count. The NCCS website is designed so tracks can enter their race results and the site will automatically calculate the points and display the standings for each track plus the national standings. There will be year end awards for the top 20 Nationally. For rules on this series, please see the CLASSES section of our website.
POINTS RULES FOR NCCS
(This series is for slashes only)
The points system starts with a base figure for each position starting with 100 points to win and reducing by 2 pts per position. Maximum allowed in the class at a single event is 50. Bonus points will start above 5 entries. Five (5) entries and below receive the base points described above. Starting at 6 entries each entry is worth .2 pts. This change was made to allow smaller turnouts a chance to compete point wise but the larger turnouts still get something for the added difficulty.
How are the points tabulated? Once a track lists the finishing order for an event the website will automatically calculate the points for each racer based on finishing position and number of entries in the class at that event. Once an event results are listed the National points will update automatically and can be viewed on the National points page. The individual points standings for each track will be listed on that tracks page.
What about ties? Tie breakers will be as follows:
1. Racers with the most TQ's.
2. Racer with the most first place finishes.
3. Racer with the most 2nd place finishes.
4. Most 3rd place finishes.
5. Most 4th places.
